blueberry skies

This summer we were invited to pick from the new blueberry farm across the valley at our neighbor's homestead.  They have been toiling away to establish this bounty, and we felt privileged to be among those welcome to pick this year.

The bushes were heavy with delectable fruit - each variety offered another flavor experience.

Between Phil and Mom B, we picked over 10 pounds in less than an hour.

Sigrid and I did our share of picking too, but none of ours made it to the buckets.
Sigrid also sampled the fine clover flowers.

What a gift to live near a blueberry hill while the wind blows fluff-white clouds across a blueberry sky.

Yippee! There's not much better than free blueberries! (Says the girl who has 20+ quarts of them packed away in her freezer.) A gift, indeed!

Not quite free, but much discounted since it's their first year. Still, they taste just as sweet!
