junco nestlings

In the low rafters of the shed at work.

A peek in the nest revealed 5 beautiful darkly spotted eggs.

A couple days later I found hungry mouths, and hard-working parents.

.Now, more feathers and wiser eyes that realized I'd bear them no food.

The following week I caught sight of a fledgling, and then that was the last. But now another nest is built and ready in a hanging basket of fuschias.

I love these pictures. Juncos are such plump, pert, little birds.
